Ben Gerber serves as  Chief Executive Officer of Peak Health as well as Chief Strategy Officer of WVU Medicine – WVU Health System.   

At WVU Medicine, Mr. Gerber leads major strategic initiatives, enterprise strategic planning, and goal setting for WVU Health System. He also oversees payer relations, payer contracting, and health care reform matters. Finally, he oversees the health system’s Integrated Financing and Delivery System strategy through Peak Health.

Prior to joining WVU Medicine, Mr. Gerber held various leadership roles at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, including Vice President of Population Health, Vice President of Payment Strategy, Associate General Counsel for Managed Care, and System Corporate Secretary.

Mr. Gerber holds a JD cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was an Olin Fellow in Law & Economics. He holds a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Finance with highest distinction from Schreyer Honors College at Pennsylvania State University, where he was Class Marshall. He is designated as a Fellow in Health Insurance Advanced Studies by AHIP and holds a professional certificate in Strategic Decision & Risk Management from Stanford University.

Mr. Gerber serves on several boards of directors of West Virginia non-profit organizations, including the Morgantown Area Partnership, the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the Hope Hill Sobering Center, and the Accountable Care Organization of West Virginia.
